This Week in PlayStation! 7/8/14

As the threat of the simian takeover looms its time to dive into this weeks PlayStation News!  Another slow week for news as we are in the lull between E3 and the upcoming Gamescom and TGS conferences in August, as well as this little holiday in the U.S.  However the lead this weeks comes news of the latest PS3 update allowing DS4 controllers to fully function with PS3s now, which means if you need an extra buck to put towards The Last of Us: Remastered maybe its time to trade in the old controllers?

All other news this week is on upcoming game release announcements, all this week focusing on Japanese games coming west and starting with Ar Nosurge: Ode to an Unborn Star which will release in North America on Sept. 23rd and in the EU on Sept. 26th.  Tales of Hearts R will also be coming west for the PS Vita on November 14th.  Lastly comes some non-specific announcements from NIS America which revealed that The Firefly Diary will be coming to the Vita this fall, while Criminal Girls Invite Only (Vita) and The Awakened Fate Ultimatum (PS3) will be coming some time in 2015.  When specific dates for these releases are announced I will be sure to spread the word!

With all the PS Plus games announced and available at the beginning of the month, there is no longer a need for a weekly section for PS Plus announcements. Is there something you would like to see in this section of the blog weekly? Let me know in the comments!

This Week in PlayStation! 7/1/14

Another week has come and gone, time to run down this week in PlayStation news!  First up is a couple of confirmations by Sony themselves, as they confirmed that a special edition PS4 bundle with The Last of Us: Remastered will be coming to Europe.  Sony also confirmed that the Wave Blue DS4 controller will finally be making its premiere in North America this fall.

In game news a PS3 exclusive Godzilla game was revealed for Japanese audiences, with no word as of yet for a NA/EU release.  Two games also got the same release date announced this week, making August 26th and interesting day indeed as Hyperdimension Neptunia Rebirth 1 (Vita) and inFAMOUS: First Light (PS4) will both be coming to PlayStation audiences.  Rebirth is a Vita remake of a highly touted PS3 JRPG previously unreleased outside of Japan while First Light is standalone DLC focusing on Fetch, a character from the recent inFAMOUS Second Son (PS4) and will not require you to have played or even have Second Son.
